Something

-a tree in Berkeley, photographed by me, 10.2.12
To everyone whose love and support have lifted me through this challenging time:

Something

Sometimes we reach for something
but it’s something we can’t see
When a moment feels like hours,
And we struggle to just be.
Despair is all-consuming
And what’s next is what we fear.
We listen hard for something
Uncertain what we’ll hear.
Sometimes we pray for something,
but lack religious creed.
When all it takes is something
And with it, we are freed.

I’m glad you are that something
 when something’s what I need.

Thank you!

 with love, Robyn

  12. As Gilda Radner once said/wrote, “It's always something…”
And, yes, there are so many “somethings” that hurt, cause despair, etc. But then, as you note and have been able to see (in spite of or because of your despair) – there is always “something” to help us through it all.
I hope you are doing well (better?) on your journey.
    Hugs and love.

  17. Just stopping by to see how you're doing.

    Still thinking of you.

Keep planting one foot in front of the other, no matter how "it" feels. There is no short cut through a long dark tunnel (unfortunately) only a slow progression of painful steps.

BUT - - - there IS light at the end of the tunnel, and it will still be there when your steps, small though they may be, bring you to it.

Hang in there and keep walking my friend.
