Thanks to the Rebels, Happy Labor Day!

Happy Labor Day, my Dear Sillies!

Glenn-David, Jonathan, Robyn, Dawn in our Rebel station wagon, circa 1973. This photo's been seen hundreds of thousands of times - YAY! Thanks to the rebels, it was stolen from my site for youtube videos about the 1970's. Photo by our dad, Jerry Engel.

  1. Yes! Thanks to the Rebels! Love this picture where you look like you just came back from the beach or pool! No car seat or seat belt on sight!

    1. No car seat or seatbelt - you're right, Birgit. We were headed for the Marina Beach in Southern California. It was a regular destination - we loved it.
Thanks for being here and being first. Yay!

  3. Great poem, great photo -- your big smile was the same back then as now! Not surprised the photo was used for iconic memories of the 1970s!

    1. It's special beyond special. Who knew when dad snapped the shot that decades later, it'd go "viral"? We'd have been scared it would bring on a pandemic or something. Oh, wait...

  7. Funny someone stole it.
Those who claim our freedom is limited really need to go live in the Middle East or China for a while.

    1. I agree, Alex. Sigh. I hate to call myself "liberal" now --too many crazy bullies are insistant on limiting our freedoms.

  9. Back in the day when car seats were not needed and seatbelts didn't ding you if they weren't on. Great picture. And go rebels indeed. Did a lot we take for granted.
