Life by Chocolate, Fiddler on The Roof

My Dear Lovey Sillies,

Sorry I've been so absent.

As you can see, though, I'm a survivor!

And I had the pleasure of seeing a theatrical production of Fiddler on The Roof this weekend. Our local cast did a wonderful, heartfelt job. Have you seen the play or film? The music is unforgettable.
Third, what's up with the guys who find out you're single (by, for example, spying on your Facebook page) and try to befriend and/or re-friend and/or re-date you? Asking for myself. Cringe, right?

Have a good week, as Fall begins. Yippee!

Happy 5784 to the Jewish world!

I love you!

  1. Happy (belated) Rosh Hashanah, Robyn! "Fiddler on the Roof" is my all-time FAVOURITE musical! I've seen the film innumerable times and saw a stage production once. The music, the story, the characters -- just love it ALL.

    1. Me too, Debra. Of course I know all the songs. Yet I believe I only saw the movie once, and that was decades ago. This play/musical was really special. Brought me back to my beloved roots.

  2. Oh, and P.S. Last year at Edmonton's Jewish Film Festival, I saw a documentary about the making of the film to mark its 50th anniversary -- "Fiddler's Journey to the Big Screen" with great behind-the-scenes stuff and interviews with surviving cast members and, of course, with the Canadian director, Norman Jewison. If you get a chance to see that doc, it is worthy!

    1. Jewison is his real name?! He was meant to director Fiddler! I'd love to catch that documentary. Thank you, Debra.

  3. OF COURSE you are a survivor. You might have doubted you, we never did.
And hooray for uplifting theatre performances. And chocolate.

    1. Thank you, Alex! Desperate seniors with long nostril hair too. I'm done, done, done with old cringe males. Oy vey.

  6. Sounds like a fun performance.

I'm married and I still get a ton of weird single guys trying to friend me on Facebook.

    1. It's gross. They're trying to use FB as the new dating and scamming site.

  7. You are a beautiful survivor! Love the hair.

Don't be too upset with the guys trolling Facebook. They've probably been waiting for you to get singled up.

    1. Haha. Thank you, my dear friend. I love you.
I'll soon have a hairstylist friend give me a cute "break-up haircut."

  8. Glad you got out to a show and supported local arts. That had to help the soul. You are sassy and strong. That smile will be appreciated by someone who better like chocolate and humor.

    1. Thank you, friend. Well, they can dislike chocolate so long as they love buying it for me. Right? I've strategies in mind. Smiles.

  9. I grew up watching the film. Although not Jewish, my mother's family came from Ukraine, and it was a small insight into how their lives might have been.
