Dear Sillies,
2020 didn't like this erotic welcome. It didn't rise to the occasion. How much flaccidity can a gal take? Must've been something I wore or failed to wear. We'll see if 2021 gets there. (Sorry for my laziness with this and all re-posts, friends. I am trying to pen a new poem. And finish a book...Like everything else this year, my projects are moving slower than sloth-like.)
We (almost) made it. Perhaps, we did make it to 2021 as you read this. Best news of all: We made it through together, from various points around the globe.
Together, another year! Thank you, my Sillies.
Be good to yourselves. You're worth more than you know (to me alone).
Stay silly and get some naughty indulgences in too.
I love you.
It didn't rise to the occasion. How much flaccidity can a gal take?
ReplyDeleteBe fair, it got sick and faced daunting distractions. Covid-19 and the constant sight of Trump on the news would bring chronic dongwilt to even the most vigorous.
Yes, 2020 sucked, and not in the good way. But at least the murder hornets seem to have fizzled. And 2021 is bound to be an improvement, with you-know-who on the way out and vaccines on the way in.
May I steal your term, "chronic dongwilt"? I hope I don't have to use it, Infidel, but it's a winner for a losing experience.
DeleteAnd yes, the doubly good news of the orange mofo out, vaccine in is doubly promising.
Thank you!
Steal away -- perhaps you can work it into a poem somewhere.
Deletewe're old but we're not dead yet (as long as we dodge the dreaded C...and I used to just fear dodgeball and now in TX rattlesnakes).
ReplyDeleteHey - you kept us laughing through this year and I thank you.
Happy New Year? (I'm doing a question mark this year...just cuz) But I wish you the best and safest 2021 possible.
Funny how "safe" just takes on more and more meanings - it's not just about a condom any more.
Cheers and chuckles and champagne and chocolate my good friend.
Haha. That's a good slogan, Joanne: Safety, not just about condoms any more. I know, we're all a bit terrified of expecting good things from the New Year. But here's too plenty of cheers and chuckles and champagne and chocolate to go around.
DeleteThank you, good friend.
It promised much, but delivered little. Let's hope 2021 is more robust! Happy New Year, Robyn!
ReplyDeleteIt sure did. Happy New Year, Debra. Thank you.
DeleteDear Robyn, "Relax into the blast." is one of the finest poetic lines I've ever read. Toward the 1960s it revives parties encountered in my shared apartment as I got off work: Big fug of pot smoke in the front room with arms and legs sticking out. I'd tiptoe to the kitchen where discussion and coffee was. At whatever point I considered the activity of both rooms conterminous, I cleared my bed and went to sleep. We came intact from a helluva century, Robyn. To paraphrase another great lyric: "My mama said there'd be days like this." --the Shirelles. I'm not sure society is up to the same resilience it had then, but we need it. Please, keep transmitting.
ReplyDeleteI agree. People in the past had more grit. Now, we can't seem to agree on anything to fight for/against any cause. Love that song, Geo. It's most appropriate.
DeleteThank you, my dear friend, for another year of your thoughtful, loving presence.
Have a great New Year, with or without any blast.
I hope that 2021 comes in with a bang for you. Several bangs.
ReplyDelete2020 was a festering puswart but it is on its slow, dreary and dangerous way out. Like the man who should not be named (but should definitely be shamed).
Ha. My Sillies are the best. I love your term "festering puswart," EC. I couldn't have said it better (i.e., worse).
DeleteWe'll see how the orange mofo departs. I guess the world is on pins and needles about that one. Sigh.
Love and hope to you for a MUCH, MUCH better year!
Wow cool post well writtenđź‘Ť hope next year
ReplyDeletewill bring you more happiness and success
Thank you, Nassah.
DeleteHappy New Year!
I'm being very quiet in my enthusiasm for the new year. I was overly excited about everything I had planned for this year, and it didn't go so well...
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year x
I think we all feel the same, Annalisa.
DeleteHappy New Year. We made it!
Happy New Year my sweet Robyn! May 2021 be one of healing, health, growth and blessings! Cheers!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, dear friend.
DeleteWe made it! I wish all the best to you for this New Year. Love ya.
Happy New Year and it will be. Now let’s hope those white fireworks spring to life and blow apart rather than just go pfffttt.
