Chocolate Pudding Peeps Review

Dear Sillies,
First off, why are Peeps called Peeps? They're weird little creepy looking marshmallow bunnies.
Second, I tried these Chocolate Pudding Peeps. I had to. It was Easter weekend AND Passover.

Now let me tell you, Chocolate Pudding Peeps do taste a lot like chocolate pudding. They're a bit too sweet, though. That's really my only criticism. I like them. I ate them readily - ears first.

Your turn, Sillies. Tell me your most vulnerable feelings related to Peeps. What do you love or hate about them and why? Hold nothing back. We're practically family (without any of the tensions or unwanted children).
Bottom line: I'd give Chocolate Pudding Peeps a 7 on a 1 to 10 scale.

Stay safe and sweet, my Sillies.
Take care of yourselves.
I love you.

  1. No peeps here.
And fortunately MUCH less exposure to the very mixed bag which is my family by blood. Every cloud has a silver lining.
    Stay well, stay safe.

    1. Yes indeed - you're always astute to find that silver lining. Thanks, EC.
And I'm glad you don't have peeps there.
      Take care.

  2. Great post, Robyn. But I've never heard of "peeps" except  as brief glimpses (in English) and far back in memory, when I was a very little boy helping my (Portuguese) Grandma in her garden. Before we went outdoors she would always ask, "Ah, menino, você precisa fazer peeps?" And she would take a moment to let me go do that.

    1. No comprendo, Geo. Does that mean "You're not wearing shoes?" It's a sweet anecdote regardless.
      Love to you.

  3. 7 is a fine score. Never even knew there were peeps here. Only time I see that word used is when describing people.

    1. Yeah, it's a weird word for candy, and you do have them in Canada, but there's no need to hunt for them.
      Cheers.

  4. I might try those. I think the fact they are so sweet is why I don't eat them. My wife likes them but she only eats one at a time.

    1. Your wife has a lot more restraint than I do. Despite my sweet tooth, I found them too sweet. That's how sweet they are. Smiles.

      Take good care.

  5. I might try those based on your review. However, I think peeps just have a funky consistency. As much as I've always liked sweets, the peeps were creepy. I'm fine with marshmallows drowning in hot chocolate. But on their own....meh.

      Cheers to you.

  6. Since they are so sticky, I tend to eat them in one bite.

    1. I like that rationale for eating them in one bite, Diane. I'm going to run with that. Thank you.
      Smiles.

  7. I like the LOOK of Peeps but not the TASTE. They are all waaaaaaay too sweet. And chocolate pudding Peeps? I haven't seen those on Canadian shelves. Then again, I haven't been looking!

    1. If you look, you'll likely find, Debra. But don't bother looking. I think these are even sweeter than the usual peeps.

      Be well.

  8. Back when I was a kid, peeps were peeps. I'm not sure when they switched them to bunnies. But as I recall, they looked like sugary rubber duckies.

I forgot to mention- the chocolate mixes you sent were delicious added to coffee. Alone, they tasted like the cocoa my mom used to make that I hated as a kid, but made me enjoy sentimentally as an adult.

    1. Haha. You hated them as a kid? That's funny. Well now you know (maybe), you didn't like it because your mom used the best of cocoa. Pure cocoa is kinda bitter, huh? Bittersweet memories enliven us. xoSmiles.

  9. I don't really care much for marshmallow, including peeps. And as much as I love chocolate (the darker the better), I don't care for chocolate pudding. So, I'll skip this one.

    1. Yeah, you're better off, Jeff. It doesn't taste like dark chocolate.

  10. Peeps are too sweet in general. I always think they are going to taste different than what they are. I think they changed the formula since I was a kid. Can you mail me over some of those puddin' peeps? The cake is lost at the Post Office.

    1. Sure. I will. And the USPS is so reliable, I'm sure you'll get them, but I've eaten all the ears.

  11. I think Peeps really were shaped like little yellow baby chicks when I was a kid (about six or seven hundred years ago). They've since branched out into different colors, flavors, and shapes. I never liked the taste or texture of them, but I'd try a chocolate one if it was available to me.
