Happy Hanukah!

Hanukah arrived! It’s an eight day celebration of  light, goodness, religious freedom (including the freedom to be a non-believer - how cool is that?!), and miracles.
Note that you can spell Hanukah approximately 215 different ways, so don’t worry. You'll get it right, so long as you don't double up on side-by-side vowels. Start with one "H" or "Ch." You'll be fine.
They say that every Jewish holiday is summarized as “They tried to kill us. We won. Let’s eat!”

So Eat. Be merry and bask in life's miracles. They are everywhere to be found, still and despite it all.

HAPPY HANUKAH!

May you appreciate a miracle or two today and always.

    1. I usually spell it that way too, JoJo. I just chose an easier spelling for this one.

  12. I always look it up because I'm never confident of the spelling. But Happy Hanukkah to the world.

  15. Happy Hanukah, Robyn. I'm going to adopt your spelling of it because you're my rabbi. That's a nice table of ornaments - is the little blue man a Jewish hero?

    1. Yes, GB. He's the Dreidle's Gimel (the winning letter). We'll keep the fact that I'm your rabbi under-wraps. Though I'm flattered, I don't want to be kicked out of the tribe for making inappropriate stuff up all the time, not to mention my erotica. Oy vey.

  16. Happy Chanukah! Why is there so many different ways to spell it? I prefer the "Ch" approach because it makes saying it more phlegmy.

    1. Spoken like a kosher pickle, Pickleope Von Pickleope. The more phlegm, the more chutzpah.* I like it.
*spirit, sass. But I have a feeling you know this. Wink.

  17. When I was a kid I actually asked my mother why every Jewish holiday celebrated somebody trying to kill all the Jews. She said, "Because they did." Uff!!!

  20. And, to say it correctly, you must sound as if you're hawking up a loogie.
    Yeah. I'm unsophisticated like that.
    Have eight crazy nights!
