The Latest in Healthy Chocolate: Chocolatemint Water

Today, I'm splashing this blog with HEALTHY CHOCOLATE for a change: Metromint's Chocolatemint Water.

I've never been much of a water drinker, never liked the (non)taste. But it's the best thing for us. So I'm thrilled to have discovered this product at a local supermarket (Raley's/Nob Hill Foods). You can also find it on-line. It's made in the USA and contains just three ingredients: purified water, mint and cocoa essence.   We're talking NO sweeteners, preservatives or calories. We're also talking decadence. Really. I've never liked water so much. It quenches my thirst and leaves a similar aftertaste to Girl Scout thin mints. Plus, it's healthy and attractively packaged.

My only complaint is that the bottle is too small, 16.9 ounces (approx. 2 cups).

I give Metromint's Chocolatemint Water a 9 out of 10.

Drink up, and happy Thursday.

Note: Metromint isn't paying me for this review, though they should.

  1. I love chocolate mint, but can't imagine it in drinking water. Since you've never steered me wrong, I'll have to try it. This is perfect timing for a new refreshing spring/summer drink! Julie

  2. Amazing! Do you think it could work as a perfume too?

  3. I'm not sure how I feel about this but I do enjoy Thin Mints so I suppose I could give it a try.

And yes, they should pay you for this review. =)

  4. You didn't mention if it's affordable? If it isn't affordable... as in cheap, like me, I might only be able to drink in on special occasions.

  5. Wow, as soon as I read the product description Robyn, I really wanted to try it and your review did nothing to quench my desires since you love it so much, now I wish I could get my hand on some!

  9. Julie, it's strangely very good. If you try it, let me know.

GB, I don't see why not - except it's counter intuitive, a waste of good drinking water, and a bit odd. But, sure.

MJ thanks. I didn't think I'd like it so much.

MsA, I was going to go into the cost, but I found that you can order it in bulk - for very cheap - on-line. This bottle costs me 1.67. That's not outrageous but too pricy to buy as a default drink, especially given how small it is.

YW not sure if it's migrated out of the states. Do you have interesting flavored waters in Ireland?

Alex, it sounds odder than it tastes. Thanks.

Baygirl, I had to keep reminding myself that it has no calories because it tastes rich, actually.

  11. The only thing I like better than chocolate is chocolate mint, but this doesn't sound very appealing. Still, you haven't steered me wrong yet so I'll give this a try.

  22. Nezzy, great idea. I'd love to bathe in it.

    L. Diane, you're a much better, stronger woman than I could ever be.

Anthony, it's such a pretty bottle, I kinda hated tossing it into the recycling. But I did.

Yvonne, that's too bad. Yeah, I don't think it comes in chocolate sans mint.

WCC, I agree about designer waters, but this one's a good one. I wouldn't buy it regularly - just a nice once-in-a-while zero calorie treat.

  23. Chuck, I'm confident you'll like it. Well, fairly confident. Let me know.

David, thanks. You didn't miss any other healthy chocolate. No worries.

Cheryl, you can! Of course it's a lot cheaper that way too. =)

Siv, aw, but you've got amazing chocolate. Yes?

Stephen, I know it doesn't. It's much better than I expected.

Pat, I can't do it either. And carbonated waters upset my tummy. This is a pretty good option.
