Celebrity Book Fail, Macaulay Culkin's Adult Coloring Book, Brave

Dear Sillies,

Remember my stagehand, Macaulay Culkin? Ever since he stormed off of Life by Chocolate's set, which I don't understand because I cut him a fair deal (he still owes me $2,500), he's been falling into deeper depths of bizarre and disconcerting shamefulness.

That once adorable child actor from Home Alone

has a coloring book in his honor.

MACAULAY CULKIN: AN ADULT COLORING BOOK: A Macaulay Culkin Coloring Book For Adults

*An awesome unofficial Macaulay Culkin-inspired, biographical coloring book
*Perfect for relaxation and stress relief
*2 copies of each image, for two chances to color!
*Rad original designs, from Scribble Press!

I mean, would coloring this picture bring you zen? (I'd be more inclined to start a serious drug habit.)

If you're interested you can find this treasure for anywhere between $9 and $16.99. Published in 2019, it's been reviewed anywhere between zero to zero times, my friends! But don't worry, two people gave it a five-star rating. I wonder who the second person was, or if Macaulay has a second account under an alias.

In other words, YOU HAVE TALENT and gifts and joy to share with the world. Please do. It'll help balance out the ugly nonsense out there.

Love you!

  1. I never got into the adult coloring books but this sure wouldn't be my idea of what I'd want to color.

  2. The only image I can find anywhere is the one on the cover, which isn’t very well done if you ask me. And I noticed someone else created one, as well. Also could only find the cover. Neither sparked my interest... not that I’m into adult coloring books, although I can at least often appreciate the designs.

    1. Of the oodles of coloring books out there, Mitchell, this is NOT one to get.
      Cheers.

  3. Not tempted. I don't colour well between the lines. In art or in life.

  4. Is that for real? Who thought it would be a good idea at any point in the past twenty years?

  5. Clearly he has hit rock bottom since leaving your employ.

  6. The author of the book has 110 celebrity coloring books on Amazon. None of which I will be purchasing. Unless that's your pseudonym. Is it?

    1. Oh my, Mike. No. I mean, I've been desperate at times, but never that desperate. Silly!

  7. Thanks, but no thanks. I prefer kiddie coloring books.

      This is just scary-ugly.

  8. I want to paint it black.

Actually - true story. As a kid, you'd go to your little church class on Sundays. Every picture I brought home was only in black crayon. A tad concerned, my folks questioned me. Well, I said, "everyone grabs the good colors and leaves me with black". I was not assertive as a 5 year old.

    1. You're in good company. Undoubtedly, Mick Jagger and the Stones had the same problem :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4irXQhgMqg

    2. Ha, Jeff picked up on the musical reference.
Oh, Joanne, mean kids, but you've always been resourceful. And that's a great metaphor - the blackened religious pictures.

  10. Dear Robyn, I am in my 70s and, when kids, we got coloring books of TV characters, they were in color --because books could do that, like in comic books etc. Our job was to color them like Superman, Geo. Reeves --who played the TV role weekly from 1952 to'58-- in black and white. Crayolas were sold in selections of gray between extremes of black and white. It was fun, but some desert regions objected and it led to wars.

    1. Ah I remember George Reeves. I grew up in the 70s so must have seen repeats. Colouring is fun. Much more complex now. Good mindfulness exercise.

    2. This is so interesting. I don't remember George Reeves, so I looked him up. Hmm, no relation to Christopher? Their shared last name is a mere coincidence?

I love sitting and coloring - it's very healing.

  11. Haha I remember that interview. Is that a real book? What a classic! Thanks for the laugh. I wonder if he's still home alone?

    1. Buwahaha. Yeah, it's real. Who'd buy it, though, and why? Even the thieves don't want to visit him now, Anthony.

  12. Oh man....this kid who is now, what? Pushing 40?? Thought this was a good idea. Am I evil or does that front cover makes me think he is looking at Michael Jackson coming nearer to him? I know bad...bad me.
