Saint Patrick's Erotica and QuaranTeasers!

Dearest Sillies,
How could things get any more unbelievable, right? Geeze.
The best that I can do is emphasize self-care: Be good to yourselves. Take care of YOU - first, last, always. We certainly couldn't have imagined we'd be facing this horrid pandemic, combined with all the other life challenges. Hold tight. You've come this far. You got this.
   We're here for each other.
   I love you.
   Go gently.

Next, to return to your usual dose of abnormal normalcy:

And now, by way of something to keep you busy, here's a handful of QuaranTeasers (a fun quiz). NO CHEATING! NO GOOGLING! High praise to the person/s who get/s the most right.

1) What famous woman said this almost 20 years ago: "I just turned 29, so I probably don't have that many good years left in me."
a) Jennifer Aniston
b) Angelina Jolie
c) Jennifer Lopez
d) Gwyneth Paltrow

2) All the following are believed to be true regarding Saint Patrick except:
a)  He was born in Great Britain (Roman Britain at the time).
b)  He was admired for his unique skills as a snake charmer.
c)  He was kidnapped as a teen and forced into slavery.
d)  He died on March 17.

3) What celebrity said "Run for office? No. I've slept with too many women. I've done too many drugs, and I've been to too many parties."
a) Ozzy Osbourne
b) George Clooney
c) Sean Penn
d) Jack Black

4) What's the longest word you can make from the letters in "quarantine" besides the word itself? (I don't know the right answer; any guess is good.)

5) Freebie: Who's my favorite famous old man, the one I love dearly?

  1. I am brain dead this afternoon but am well aware of the answer to 5).
    Take care.

    1. Well, that's more than all my friends can say. Some of them (on FB) didn't even know about Bernie's importance in my life.

Be safe, EC. Take gentle care. You are loved.

  2. Great post, dear Robyn!
#1: Let's see, 29+20. I guess the Jennifers, who are in the 49ish range.
#2: With the exception of snake-charming, I think a-thru-d describes a typical week for a kid in the middle ages.
    #3: I don't know --wasn't at that party.
#4: As a poet, I've always preferred quatrain to quarantine.
#5: I don't know, Robyn; Bernie or Biden'd be better than the bloviator we have now. Sorry Warren withdrew. I like her. In short, I'd like to see a return of discussion instead of government by tantrum.

    1. "Government by tantrum" <-You're a master of succinct accuracy. Anything would be better.
      1) Good guesses
      2) Haha. Very good point.
      3) Thank goodness.
      4) So creative. Thanks for a new scrabble word.
      5) I still can't believe Warren did as poorly as she did. It had to be rigged. It makes no sense, not that I'm a big (or little) fan.

Be healthy and keep your spirits up, Geo.

  3. I can't best Geo on this, especially #4. And we all know about your crush on Bernie. My dna says I am between 6% and 11% Irish, but there aren't any Irish in the last 6 or 7 generations. Must have been a leprechaun in the woodpile at some point. Guess I'll never know, but it's a good excuse to celebrate the day.

Be warm and be well, my friend!

  4. Funny!
Well I know the last one. And I'm guessing George Clooney said that. Ozzy is too obvious.

    1. Funny, Alex, Ozzy is the first person who came to mind when I read the quote - as far as a good multiple-choice option. Clooney doesn't come across to me as a partyer type, but you're much smarter and more in-touch than I am.

Be well, Alex. We need and love you.

  5. So naughty!

Despite what's happening, I'm sure my author from Ireland will be getting "Irish" tonight.

    1. I am sure. There's no reason to not have a small gathering of semi-socially distant Irish drunks. Smiles.

      Be and stay healthy, Diane.

  6. Thank gawd you gave us that freebie -- it's the only one I know! May you and Bernie dance an Irish jig over to the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! And by jig, I mean . . . oh, you'll figure it out. Happy Irish Heritage Day!

  7. Let's see...
I'm going to say Gwyneth, snake charmer, Ozzy, train, and Bernie

Stay safe. Stay calm. Let's not let the fixes be worse than the disease.

    1. Woohoo. You did good: 4 out of 5. I won't tell you the one you missed. I'll let ya figure it out.

Safety, calm, and fixes that work, but may they not be needed.
      Love ya.
I hope, hope, hope, you get that package in one piece tomorrow.

  8. Oh, you have to have some Irish in you lassie - you are too funny. I'll leave it at that. Looks like Elizabeth could be your winner, if only she'd picked my guy George (I think).

  9. That is a fine Saint Me Day!

Ummm D, B, B, and Requantina. Hey, I can say it so it's a word. Bernie would be the last I'd say.

    Cuidate.
Lo siento. Mi espanol es muy malo.

  11. You have Willy Dunne Woofers in your collage. Look but don't touch. 1. Jennifer Lopez 2. He was not a snake charmer. 3. Clooney 4. enitnarauq 5. Feel the Bern. I mean, really feel him.

    Love,
    Janie

    1. Haha. I give you an extra half-point for "really feel him," and another extra half for "enitnarauq". Whether or not it's real, I can't pronounce it. Thus it's a good word. Psst, #1 is wrong.
      Love you.

  12. I knew the answer to the freebie. I was clueless on the rest. I do believe you made Bernie blush in that picture! These are crazy times. Stay well, Robyn.

  13. We all know you love Bernie! Savannah has a great St Patrick's Day tradition but this year everything was cancelled except for the St. Patrick's Regatta, which I participated in on Saturday. It was good to be on the water.
