My Dear Sillies,
We're at the beginning of a new year for the Jewish people. This year we turn 5,785. Yeah, we're old. "Shanah Tova" means "Happy new year!" Traditionally, we dip apple slices in honey to begin the year with sweetness. You might also notice round challah bread in select stores. It's the absolute best.
Last weekend, I drove to Lake Tahoe, which graces the CA-Nevada border. Such a wonderful getaway. Here are a few photos.
Despite the fact that it's the country's biggest alpine lake, I got lost. But the universe dropped this sign when I needed one. You might've heard my loud chuckle at that moment, as I excitedly pulled into the parking lot. A very kind old woman in this chocolate shop drew a map with detailed directions to Lake Tahoe. And naturally, I bought myself a very sweet unhealthy breakfast. (Chocolate pecans, chocolate graham cracker, and caramels). Mm, so good!
Aw, serenity. Such a blissful getaway.
