Turkey Talk, Saturday Centus

~Pretend Saturday Centus button is here, since it's non cooperative and on a timeout right now. Thanks.~

Jenny Matlock's Saturday Centus challenge involves creating a piece within 100 words based on a prompt. This week's prompt is bolded below. Check out Ms. Matlock's site for lots of fun turkey posts and other great stuff. Happy pre-turkey time. xo

“Pardon me,” said Tom T. Urkee,
“What’s all this fuss about?
I’m not so brave. I did not shave.
Mere stuffing gives me clout.

I must be plump but not obese.
I don’t know how to please.

You’ll eat me moist but never dry.
My innards make you cry.

You bite my legs but not my gut,
My breasts, but not my butt.

Feast on my darks, if cooked just right.
Douse gravy on the light.

But deep fry me and all bets are off.
Pass me over. Would ya?”

  9. Bookie, thanks for visiting. No, we don't eat the other holiday icons, except in chocolate form. xo

Marlene, I'm always glad to make you laugh. ;0]

Articles, thanks for visiting. I'm getting hungry for turkey now too. xo

    Thanks Judie. <-=

Pat, gravy's pretty much the ticket. xo

Ames, I like my meat dark. I don't mean anything sexual by that. Or do I? :0]

CB,could be any of ours. But it's all good. xo

    OT, sounds like you're a breast man. {-;

    Babysis and Sue, thanks. xo

Kelley, yeah, the innards offer a reality check (i.e., A turkey died for this meal.) Sorry, that was even more tear evoking. There's always the tofurky option. ;-)

  11. Now that's a poem that puts Dr Seuss in the shade. Is there no one who likes eating turkey butt?

My breasts, but not my butt.

Feast on my darks, if cooked just right.

  15. What a deliciously fun take on the prompt! Just an amazing job this week Robyn! I loved it! I wish they made chocolate turkeys for this holiday like they do Easter bunnies and Santa Claus. I'm thinking it's anti-Tom discrimination!
