Nothing
All I can offer is nothing
Nothing is all I can say.
Breath viciously robbed from so many
In an incomprehensible way.
Safely detached from the horrors
I have no words to this day.
With thousands still living the nightmare
I sip warm tea in dismay.
All I can offer is silence
Silence is all I can say.
With tears for those who lost their lives, and those who lost loved ones, to the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Your Nothing says so much.
ReplyDeleteSo true, we watch sometimes from near and from far...and given the regular bombings in my country still this hits home hard...true verse of depth and proves that something great gets created out of nothing.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful Robyn. Sometimes silence really is golden when it emcompasses so much.~Ames.
ReplyDeleteWell written Robyn. I couldn't have put it better myself.
ReplyDeleteI think your nothing said it all.
ReplyDeleteI think you said more than nothing. I think you said Everything. Beautiful poem, my friend. :)
ReplyDeleteAs writers we feel we must say something. But today there really is nothing, is there. Thanks so much for these words.
ReplyDeleteWell said Robyn xo
ReplyDeleteBeautifully written, my friend.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully written.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Joanne
you are right in that no words can encapsulate the enormity of the loss - well written, Robyn...
ReplyDeleteYes. Yes. And Yes.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful, moving, and respectful. They lost their lives, but they are not lost.

ReplyDeleteAn upsetting time for sure.
We will never forget.
nice..
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful poem. And it says so much, despite the title. I still cannot believe an entire decade has passed...
ReplyDeleteOne of the best posts I've seen about that horrible day. Sometimes, having no words, speaks more loudly then having words...
ReplyDeleteVery nice tribute Robyn!
ReplyDeleteThanks, friends.
ReplyDeleteBe safe and happy.
