This month, Trader Joe's introduced us to Chocolate Cheddar Cheese. Have any of you tried it? If so, what did you think? If not, I suggest you do. This combination of cheese and chocolate is excellent - rich and delicious. The checker recommended I try it on apples. I did, and that was okay. I've mainly enjoyed it alone (as I enjoy most things) or on wheat crackers. But I'm thinking it's a red wine, Ritz cracker cheese - optimally. At any rate, I highly recommend it.
Trader Joe's Chocolate Cheddar Cheese gets a 9+ from me.
Cheese and chocolate - I never would've put the two together!
ReplyDeleteWhat a concept! Two of my favorite things in one place. Now, just add coffee...
ReplyDeleteSometimes when I read your choccy posts, I think I'm maybe not the chocoholic I thought I was!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds wrong, but often things that sing that song, aren't bad at all. Plus lots of C's are fun for the cat to give a call.
ReplyDeleteHm, how unusual!!!
ReplyDeleteUgh, I need to get to Trader Joes asap!
Hope you have a super duper day
Robyn!
Love ya lots

Wouldn’t it be great if the magic and wonder of chocolate eliminated the salt and cholesterol content of the cheese? Wishful thinking…
ReplyDeleteI would never have imagined those two things working together but you might be right Robyn, it might actually be nice especially if you can find a time or place for it.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big cheddar cheese fan and I must admit this does not sound good, but you've never led me astray before so I'll try it out. But probably not on nachos.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't like to smell that after it's been in the sun for a day. Do you eat it straight from the fridge?
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of such a thing!
ReplyDeleteI MUST TRY
I think we have a TraderJoes somewhere near us. I'll have to check into that too :O)
First I was thinking about chocolate cheesecake. Not bad. Then I reread and saw "cheddar". Hmm. Gonna have to try it!
ReplyDeleteIf they would throw in some little chunks of bacon, it might be the perfect food item!
ReplyDeleteThere is no Trader Joe's here, but maybe I could order it. That is so interesting! On another note, forgive me for not stopping by in a while! I miss your corner of the blogosphere!!!
ReplyDeleteHi, all.
ReplyDeleteI agree, it doesn't sound good and I would never have paired the two. But this combination really does work, in my humble chocolaty opinion.
Beth, yes. I neglected to mention the high fat content too.
GB, yes, straight out of the fridge.
Ducky, you do need to try. I'm sure you'd like it!
Pat, haha. I will need to review the Bacon Chocolate Bar. It actually exists. And it's pretty darn good.
Kelly, I've missed you too. Thanks for dropping by.
Be well, all.
xoRobyn
I might just have to try that! Thanks
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Joanne
My heavens, what an unlikely pairing!
ReplyDeleteBeing not a cheese lover, I think I'll pass. What's next? Chocolate and pickles?
ReplyDeleteThat's an interesting combination. Will definitely try it. :)
ReplyDeleteOver the years, I've eaten moose, gator, yak, bear, various roots and berries and a few insects. Chocolate cheddar cheese, why not? I've got the wine and crackers, where do we meet?
ReplyDeleteYou've never steered me wrong, so I'll have to try it. It's so nice to know a true chocolate connoisseur! Julie
ReplyDeleteJoanne, let me know if you do.
ReplyDeleteMsA, true but this one's really good.
Sarah, even I would draw the line at that one.
Riz, I'd like to know what you think. Thanks for dropping by.
Teri, shall we take the party to T. Fusion for some chocolate chai frosts too?
EmptyNester, I'm confident about this one. Let me know if you try it.
Happy Friday, friends.
xoRobyn
I can't believe this. Cheese is probably my favorite food on the planet, I could live on cheese alone, so the addition of chocolate is too good to be true. I have to head to Trader Joe's and check it out.
ReplyDeleteThanks for always keeping us up to date on chocolate yummies! Have a great weekend, Robyn. :)
Cheese, delicious. Chocolate, a necessity. But chocolate cheese! I don't think so. Sorry but this one's not for me.
ReplyDeleteI have heard on some Cooking shows--NOT THAT I watch them, that it actually does work together--Good to know 1st hand!! I'll give it a try!
ReplyDeleteLove ya Robyn!!!!
J
Would it be over doing it to try it out on apple pie? Cheddar goes with apple pie and so does chocolate, so now I wonder if it couldn't be a trifecta of deliciousness.
ReplyDeleteI've tagged you on my blog.
ReplyDeleteBizarre.... ish... I'm thinking lots of red wine.. lol.. but on a biscuit (cracker) its probably quite nice.. I love cheeses....
ReplyDelete=]
Chocolate and cheddar? But what am I thinking, we have cheddar and Christmas cake to welcome in the New Year. :0)
ReplyDeleteSeriously? Chocolate and cheese taste good together? I must see if they sell it in the UK!
ReplyDeleteMy palate is definitely down for this wild mash-up of greatness. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, Robyn!
ReplyDeleteDelicious chocolate. Which binds you like a concrete enema.
ReplyDeleteWhat could be better than this?
I'm gonna go get me some.
Julie, I hope you can track it down. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteRosalind, I respect your limits. It's not for everyone.
John, love and chocolate cheddar right backatcha.
TS, a trifecta indeed. I'd try that fecta in a heartbeat.
Annalisa, thank you!
Anthony, red wine, biscuits, whatever, it's good stuff.
Carole, yes, cheddar isn't just for sandwiches anymore.
Kitty, I wouldn't have thought so, but this combination is really good.
Shockgrubz, you're welcome. I hope you like it.
Al, thanks. Thanks a lot. I'll never be able to eat this again. Yeah thanks.
Thanks, all but Al!
xoRobyn
I have never even heard of that!! I will most definitely have to try it.
