Unknown Mami hosts a sweet and scenic worldwide party here. I'm linking up today.
One year ago, I bid farewell to the San Francisco Bay Area and trekked to California's true North. You are now joining me in Chico, CA, a city that's as random as it is peaceful. Welcome!
Drivers rarely honk around here, except to offer cheer.
Message inscribed on back window: "Honk it's my B-day."
In case you haven't seen one before, here's an empty lot disguised as a Self Service Cash Oil Co.
Can you find the cat in this photo?
It looked comfy and blended in rather inconspicuously.
But kitty jumped down and sped off as soon as I snapped the photo.
Thank you for visiting. Have a wonderful Sunday and new week.
I've been to Chico. Nice town. You have a great week, too.
ReplyDeleteI had to look twice for the cat. It blended in with the roof line of the house.
ReplyDeleteYou mean drivers never lose their temper in your town? Must be a very easy going community you've got there!
ReplyDeleteRight now, here in India we're staring a petrol price increase in the eyeball! :-) No I couldn't spot kitty!
ReplyDeleteHow nice that drivers rarely honk there!
Happy Sunday Robyn!
It is amazing how politeness can go such a long way...
ReplyDeleteHonk it's my birthday really made me laugh for some reason. You have some serious fun Robyn, I love how America gives people the freedom to just get onto the interstate and drive, I miss it so much!
ReplyDeleteI had to SEARCH for the cat - - - he IS blended in!!! How funny.
ReplyDeleteomg he's on top of the car. I had to click on the pic to see him, I was looking IN the car! Too cute
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice to live in a place where people honk for friendly purposes, rather than threatening ones.
ReplyDeleteFound the cat!
May you too have a wonderful Sunday and new week...
It took me a while to find the cat too. Great camouflage!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a nice layed back town, the way to be. Took me a second or two, but the kitty came into view. Looks comfy indeed.
ReplyDeleteThanks, all. Though I took the photo, I still have to look again for the cat (sitting atop the car). Yes, it's peaceful around here. I didn't mention that this neighborhood is also marijuana haven. I'm guessing that keeps the neighborhoods mellow. For whatever reasons, though, it's nice to not get honked at.

Maybe it was warm on top of the car.
ReplyDeleteI would have completely missed the cat if you didn't point it out.
ReplyDeleteLove it! The Cat was an Optical Delusion! I didn't see it till I enlarged it!

I have a cat that loves laying on top the truck at night. When Honeyman goes to work he has to shine a flashlight over the truck to make sure she isn't on when he leaves.
ReplyDeleteMy family is thinking of taking a vacation to San Francisco and Napa Valley.
ReplyDeleteHonk it's my birthday on the car is cute. I will have to remember that for my birthday!! haha!
Yes, fun and peaceful pictures. Greetings.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are describing Maui.... no one honks here either.
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures!
xo
It is amazing the cat is so camouflage considering he is on a white car, clever shot.
ReplyDeleteMollyxxx
Molly, it's a funny thing - the cat was so visible when I faced that direction. After I snapped the photo and looked at the picture on my camera, though, I couldn't see it. Interesting what happens between the lens, the eyes, and the world. Then again, cats are mysterious creatures as it is. Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteLisa and Leovi, thank you.
Tami, feel free to check in with me if you do plan that trip. SF and Napa make for great vacation spots.
Ruth, as Alex suggests, they must like the warmth. I'd be a bit annoyed, though, to have to check daily before driving off.
Unknown, yes, it's quite miss-able.
John, an optical delusion of a feline, indeed. Silly man. LYMI.
Alex, I'm sure you're right. It's a camera shy cat that likes to stay warm.

Hey

Appreciate it for this post, I will be extremely thankful to find out these kinds of fantastic information.
Thank you!
Aw. Kitty needed a nap. In Chico. Looks like a great place, Robin!
ReplyDeleteDo you have less criminal problems because of marijuana?
ReplyDeleteI've heard alcohol is worse than marijuana - people won't get that aggressive...
It took me ages to find that cat! I've left an award for you on my blog.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I have some comment about Chico, and I'm sure it has something to do with driving in Chico.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it has something to do the the random street pattern and how, in some places, you can't just drive around the block.
Paradise is just as much fun.
I had to look a few times for the cat. I think he was in stealth mode. Speaking of true north. So many people think that San Francisco is in Northern California, not knowing that there is hundreds of miles north of it before you hit the Oregon border.
ReplyDeleteChico has many nice features, beautiful trees, community spirit, lots to do downtown and the surrounding area.
ReplyDeleteWow, has it been a year? Looks quiet there.. Hope it's what you hoped for..

I live in Chico! The "Honk it's my B-Day" car is my history teacher Ms. Boone from fair view.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it's been a year!! I love these "in my city" posts. It's way fun to see the pictures you choose. :)
