Break Away aka Thanks, Kelly! ~ Part I.

My fingers gripped the wheel at their usual 10 and 2 o’clock positions.
Where was I headed? Oh yeah, the post office.

Kelly’s voice soothed, lifted my spirits even.
Thanks, Kelly!

Slammed by another bout of unemployment

I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly.

Mobility through paralysis

But I won't forget all the ones that I love.

Trauma and drama
Drama and trauma

Will it end before I do?

I'll do what it takes till I touch the sky..

Please! I really mean it: Pretty, lovely please!
No whipped cream. No cherry. No sugar on top.
Just a straight dose of hot fudge.
Piping hot. I promise.

Out of the darkness and into the sun.

Rejection, rejection
From every direction, direction..

I'll take a risk, take a chance,

Where was I headed?
Oh yeah, the post office.
Turn right. Don’t hit the pedestrian.
He looks like a nice one.

Make a change, and break away

Missing him, them,
So much to miss so much

Make a wish, take a chance,

Why did this happen?
Why did that happen?
Why did the other happen?

Make a change, and break away

to be continued...

  1. OH KELLY CLARKSON! A guilty pleasure secret crush of mine, I think she is rather attractive, even in her "curvy" state. You always know how to take the mundane songs and turn them into something interesting.

  2. Ha!! That made me laugh! At first I was confused and self-centered when I saw "Kelly", but then I realized it wasn't spelled "Kelley" and became even more self-centered. Ugh! I hate that! Seriously, though, this post made me laugh!

    On another note, I LOVE your comments on my blog! You crack me up. I am so with you on losing the receipt at Wal-Mart in a matter of 30 seconds. It is ridiculous. I am ridiculous. Wal-Mart is ridiculous. Your post & comments? Not ridiculous.

  8. Cheeseboy, truthfully, I don't enjoy looking at her anymore..But her voice..ah, pure heaven. Thanks. xo

    Kelley, it wasn't natural for me to spell Kelly that way. I wanted to put a second 'e' in there. Perhaps I really did want to dedicate this to you! ;0)

    Anon, thanks for the praise and visit! xo

    BabySis, I appreciate it. [-;

    CB, me dumb and don't know of the foo fighters..or, maybe me smart for that. ? xo

    Marlene, thanks, hon. I appreciate it. ;-b

    Jenners, it's not a song Kelly Clarkson is known for. In fact, someone else sang the original version. Thus, it's understandable you didn't get it immediately. I almost didn't. xo

    Sarah, thank you. I'll take it. =-}

    Fragrant Liar, thanks for stopping by. You've got a great anthem (assuming you're being honest)! xo

    Baygirl, good thing I didn't. Yes: CHANGE, come on over. I think your husband could use some too - to buy salt and all. <-;
