Wordplay, A Saturday Centus

I've been ditching class for too long. It's back-to-school time, so I re-entered Jenny Matlock's Saturday Centus.  She challenged us to write a sentence without the two most common letters of the English language, "e" or "t".

Jenny Matlock

Here's my humble offering: My mojo ran away.

Jenny's assignment also prompted this little rhyme:

Wordplay

There's "hop" in "hope" without the "e"

And "can" in "can't" minus the (apostrophe) "t"

Wordplay alone serves to attest:

Sometimes we manage more with less.

Be well, enjoy the weekend, and keep hopping.

  1. I wouldn't say it was a poor attempt at all Robyn, I definitely couldn't pull off the challenge and I like to think that I have a broad vocabulary, I guess I don't have one just as good as yours!

  2. describes most of my weekends - short and direct -- just how a sentence should be.

    have a great day.

  3. "Hop" is more than "hope"? Yes, I think you're right. Hopping can get you across the room, which is more than hope can do!

  9. YW, you're always so supportive. Thank you.

Lissa, I think "short and direct" sums me up too. Thanks for the visit and comment.

MsA, thanks so much. It means
    a lot.

GB, exactly. Hopping is active, while hoping is passive.

Nonna, good to see you, friend. I appreciate your kind words and have missed the Centus.

Joanne, aw, thanks so much. (Psst, I did sit for hours before posting this.)

Pat, maybe I'll post on craigslist missed connections.

Susan and Stephen, I'm really glad you liked it. Thank you for stopping by.

Anita, great to see you again. Your kind words mean a lot. That mojo's a finicky thing.

Julie, thank you. I haven't earned a gold star in -well- I'm not sure I ever have. I'll wear it with pride.
