Dogs' Day Afternoon: Sundays in My City

UnknownMami hosts a scenic world tour on Sundays. Enjoy great photographs from around the world by visiting here.

Our theme today is the canine. These sweet doggies were at the Butte Humane Society in Chico, CA when I visited last month. There were lots of folks there wanting to adopt, so I'm hopeful the dogs have been -or will soon be- moved to loving homes. (I was just dropping by and taking advantage of photo opps, not looking to adopt. I was tempted, though, and bet you are too. Am I right?)

Thank you for coming by. They also appreciated your visit.
Happy Sunday and new week!

  2. We live in Butte County and already have three dogs, so I am not looking to adopt very soon! These are cute dogs and I hope someone else will make a good home for them.

  3. I feel sad for the last two, their room definitely needs refurbishment. Do you prefer dogs to cats, Robyn?

  5. All of our pets, dogs and cats, have been rescues. Pound Puppies are the best! I hope all these furkids find loving, happy homes.

  6. These are all so cute, I'd love to adopt one of these and give them a good home, here's hoping they do get a home sooner rather than later Robyn. Have a great day as well.

  7. Very cute indeed, I'd have one long ago if wasn't in a crummy apartment. But I think the cat might eat those first ones..haha

  10. NO WAY I'd be able to walk away. Especially if my daughter was with me.

  11. Thanks, all. The first one had me with his eye.

GB, I prefer dogs to cats. They are friendlier and less irritating. But I don't actually want to do pet or plant (or people, for that matter) care.

    Be well.

  14. Yes, I'm tempted. I have a feeling that a doggie is in our not-to-distant future.

  15. I'm ALWAYS tempted to bring another homeless animal home but hubby would kill me! Especially after the dog's vet bill was almost $400 last month. Sigh ... And he hates my cats but they're still here (wisely avoiding him most of the time).

    Have a great week, Robyn!

  17. It's always sad to see animals in shelters.
I am more a cat person than dog.
I am allergic to both though. :(

  20. Robyn, I can't even visit shelters. Absolutely heartbreaking. My dogs are always rescues, I'd never pay for a pure-bred when there are so many wonderful mutts who need homes. The last picture, of the two laying together, is killing me.
    Happy Week. :)

  23. Oh, go ahead and break my heart. I am a sucker for anything with a wet nose.

Sweet babies, I can't go to the human society because I want to adopt the whole damn place.

    Just saying...

  26. Oooh poor little fellas... and girls.. Pet shops have a lot to answer for.. they put those babies in the window for the kids to nag their parents... and then a few years later, the kid is bored with them and off they go.. left to their own devices or abused or given up.. its wrong.. Not sure about in the States but here in Australia many dogs are put down each year.. its a real travesty.

  27. I have friends who big into rescuing dogs and they would love these guys. I hope they all were adopted as Chicago is too faraway for adoption.
