First Will and Testament, A Saturday Centus

The Saturday Centus challenge usually entails creating a piece within 100 words. This week, Miss Jenny has allowed 150. Please visit the groups' offerings here. If you haven't joined us yet, consider jumping aboard. It's always fun and great exercise.

I skipped class last week, so I'm combining last week's prompt (underlined below) with this week's (bolded below). Enjoy and have a great weekend. xo Robyn

First Will and Testament

If I die young or an old shrew
Keep a smile for me, another for you.

Laugh out loud when it’s right
Bathe in tears when it’s wrong
Dance with ants in your pants
When you can’t stand the song.

If I die young or an old shrew
Keep a smile for me, another for you.

Publish my writing, all credit to me.
Produce my life story with Sarah J.P.*
A bold, brawny hottie will play my main squeeze
Any looker will do. No Scientologists, please!

If I die young or an old shrew
Keep a smile for me, another for you.

Devour fair-trade chocolate
When life's sour or sweet
Catch hope in your heart and
Spring in your feet

If I die young or an old shrew
Keep a smile for me, another for you.

*Sarah Jessica Parker  or, if you’d rather, Jennifer Aniston

  1. Oh, brilliant writing Robyn ! Combining two prompts isn't easy but you pulled it off seamlessly.

    BTW, my pick is J.A.

  2. How could I possibly top Alex? Another great hit! I like how you managed to "squeeze" Scientologists in! Just keep yourself healthy so we could come up with 3 or 4 better actresses! Julie

  4. Good job!

(Mine would have to be more of the Holly Hunter type)

  5. LOL
Very good use of the prompt.
I think you are way too quick and too smart to die young.
Thanks for the smiles and the lovely comment on mine too.

  8. Julie, I did work to "squeeze" that one in. LOL.

I wonder if anyone's ever gracefully used "Scientologists" in a poem, 5 syllables and all.

I think Sarah JP is pretty hot but others seem to think she looks like a horse. J. Aniston's name is harder to use in rhyme.

Thanks for indulging my weirdness, as always.
    Happy weekend, all!

  9. I've had ants in my pants. It is not as exciting as you think it would be. I needed lots of lotion and ointment afterwords

  12. Oh, Robyn you my friend are such a hoot! I think I want you to write my will!
Poor Jessica, I think she is gorgeous, and love her nose! I love even more that she did't have any work done to it!
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
Lots of love, a big hug and smooch

  13. Robyn, this was brilliant ... and stick with SJP ... i am so sick of JA and who's she's dating, loving, lost, crying over, surviving, etc

  14. Ants in your pants! I haven't heard that one for years! Was it something your mom said to you when you were little? I hope you die an old pussycat.

  18. GB, not sure where I learned that term but I like it.

Jo, I don't admire JA so much given her current choice in men. He looks like a drugged-out werewolf. And can she say "I'll take sloppy seconds cuz I'm that desperate"? I think she can. Still, she's adorable.

    Thanks, everyone.

  20. Don't like either...but love the inflection of your verses....a poetess like you makes the head spin - with enthusiasm of course. :P

  21. Brilliant!

Still giggling over some of the phrases...

I don't think either of them is neat enough to play you, though. You might have to think harder!

I really admire your writing. It just reads so effortlessly.

Thanks for being you, Miss Robyn. You are a gem!
