Where in the World Did I Go? Giveaway Game

Hi, My Dear Sillies,
I went away last week. Where'd I go? That's for you to figure out. The first to guess this secret locale will win a copy of The Trumpeter's New Clothes, plus a little treat. If the winner already has my book, surely they know someone who'd enjoy a tiny orange-ish gift.
   Now, come with me!
A bit haggard, we've landed at the airport.
   Hint 1: We're in a different time-zone than California's.

Hint 2:
Hint 3:
Our flight home is delayed by 11.5 hours due to harsh weather conditions. This affords us the time to begin and finish (reading) a new book; exchange words with United employees, meet nice people, and connect with a former colleague who happens to be booked on the same flight. If you're still with me, we're also going to attempt to sleep on the airport floor. Don't worry, they give out flimsy airport blankets for our convenience. We get free bottled water too, so we're fine. Keep faith. We'll arrive home a day after planned.
Yet it was entirely worth the adventure because...to be continued soon.

Take care of yourselves and have a safe, relaxing weekend, Sillies.

  3. Hmm tornadoes, so in the middle of the states? I kinda suck a geography. Great you got to have a little fun even in the delay, maybe not sleeping on the floor though.

  4. They didn't provide chocolate? Sigh on United's public relation team. Big sigh.
Colour me clueless about your whereabouts though.

  6. I'm going out on a limb and guessing Denver. Also, being stuck at an airport just sucks all around. But I hope you enjoyed your jaunt otherwise. Also, I watched your video interview - excellent
Have a good weekend - catch up on sleep and chocolate!

    1. WOW!! My sillies are too smart! WINNER, WINNER!! YAY, CONGRATULATIONS, Joanne! I have more pictures to follow. I was certain I'd have fooled you all, though. Denver seems and appears as though it's on the West Coast. But yeah, it's a hop west of Kansas and thus, tornado country.

  8. Could it be Kansas City? That is in the heart of tornado country. If you're back in California I hope things aren't too smoky.

    1. Yes, that's the heart of tornado country. See Joanne's guess above. She got it. You're all so smart.

It is somewhat smokey here, very hot, sun and moon are extra red...very scary. Thank you for your concern, Jono. My few contacts in the area of the fires (approx 45-60 mins north of me) are fine, thank goodness. But all is not fine. Very sad.

  9. Not being from the States, I'll go with Dorothy's home state... Oz!

  10. I'm late to the party here. Congratulations to Joanne! I would not be thrilled about having to sleep on the floor at the airport. Sorry to hear you were stuck there for a while.
