Memorial Day, Build More Forests!

My Dears,
I've re-re-recycled a Memorial Day post from years prior. Apologies, but sometimes I said it better then than I could now. Oftentimes, I don't know what to say about something so overwhelmingly tragic as war.
And how can we possibly begin to adequately thank and pay tribute to our military? We can't.
I did give it thought as a child, though.
My favorite line in the above poem is: "I think more forests should be built."

Nephew Jeremy, age 16 mos.

May it be a meaningful, peaceful and safe Memorial Day.

With gratitude and blessings to all who have served and will serve our country, and to their loved ones, for all time.

  1. I agree with your younger self. Conservatively speaking about 100000 per cent.

  3. Yes! Out of the mouths of babes, as they say. (Or just one babe in this case.) I hope you have a peaceful day, Robyn.

    1. Ah, yes. It must be even hotter in your neighborhood than mine. May you enjoy nice cold lemonade in the shade (and some form of cool chocolate on the side, of course).

  5. That is a great poem you created when you were little and it shows concern to nature when most kids are not looking at that at all.

    1. I sympathized more than with the animals than I do nowadays, Birgit. We're our best selves in many ways, when we're babes. Right? I mean, we're babes, still. But you know what I mean.
      Thank you kindly.

    1. Thank you, JoJo. I was a deep thinker back then (thus, the depression thing). But it's a good way to be.

    1. Okay, do you have the screws? I mean, oy - see what kind of trouble we'd get into. This is going to be so much fun!

    2. "Build it and they will come."
My wife saw two bares in the woods yesterday while riding her horse. They were very white and probably just out of hibernation. They spoke English.

  12. Brava!! I too think more forests should be built --even out of wood, but other materials will do if wood is in short supply.

  13. You've given me a good idea also. I hadn't thought to find some older charms at resale or antique shops. The newer style charms that look like rings isn't what I'm after if I spruce up my bracelet to wear again.
