John Hancock Erotica

Dear Sillies,
I've returned from a writers' retreat in Big Sur. Cheryl Strayed and other fabulous writers (all fun, funny, warm, and humble) inspired us, as did the remarkably beautiful setting.

To my friends in the U.S., I hope it's a safe and celebratory Independence Day.
To my friends elsewhere, I hope it's a safe and pleasant week.
To all, please enjoy this re-post. I hereby dedicate it to John Hancock. After-all, his was biggest.

  1. You can't have a poem about a big cock without Martha sneaking in to gawk.

    1. Nice rhyme, and accurate too. Martha, Martha, Martha - she kills the mood every time.

  2. You have a real gift, my friend. Of course, the name John Hancock would need to be a subject for your erotic poetry.

Hope you are having a great weekend.

    1. Thank you, Cheryl. Yeah, John's last name writes its own poem in a big way. Smiles.
      Happy week.

  3. Thanks for the history lesson, Robyn. I always wondered if John Hancock was famous for anything but his signature and now I know! He was Secretary of State for groping, teasing and chewing! (Personally, I'd ask you to go easy on the chewing even if it is your constitutional right.)

  4. Good to know John H. was more than just a fancy signature. I heard old Ben got around quite a bit and kept the ladies entertained.

    1. A woman likes a sharp wit, Jono. And I'm certain he must've had other assets.

    1. LOL. Martha has prowess when it comes to gawking. And she's probably also good at stalking.

  9. You took it out, you laid the bait.
But surely that signature was to overcompensate.
    Hiding his insecurity
By signing with such mock surety.
Particularly because it is in his name,
To see disappointment was his shame.

  14. Gives new meaning to the saying, " give me your John Hancock" doesn't it?:) I'm now feeling like I'm 12 since I'm giggling. I so enjoy your poetry and writing.

  15. Happy 4th, Robyn. I'm eating a corndog, drinking a beer and listening to what sounds like WWIII outside. There are worse descriptions of happiness.

    1. Yes, much worse, and I love corndogs. Perhaps that's because they're phallic, but they also taste good.
      Be well, Geo.

  18. Oh My!! Such greatness! Cracking up at the Martha photobomb. The poem was hot! I almost feel like I need a cigarette after reading that and I don't smoke. LOL!
Hope your holiday was a great one. I am sunburned but it was worth it just relaxing at the pool.
I was absolutely in AWE the few times I've driven through Big Sur. So gorgeous. I envy your time spent there.

Glad you got some rest and relaxation in the sun. Yes, Big Sure is awe-inspiring.

  20. It's about time John H. and his Johnson got the tribute they deserved, and it's too bad they had to lie low for a couple hundred years before they were pecked up by bonny Robyn!
