Biden-Harris, A Time to Heal

Dear Sillies,

Even though some of you aren't aligned with my politics, you're always respectful. I appreciate you for that. We all want love and peace to rule the world, after all.

There's a renewed lightness in the air now. Hope feels within grasp. Bullying and all the -isms have been de-legitimatized (not completely, of course, but we're en-route).

Please, Joe, give Bernie a position in your Cabinet! Make him, I don't know, the Senior Senior of the most Senior Advisors to the Prez and VP. And he could, say, for example, pick me to be his Middle Age Senior Intern.

Biden should've put me on his short list, by the way, because I'm shorter than Kamala. But I have a girl crush. She's gorgeous, charming, wicked smart and tough. So, better her than me.

A friend and I called for a celebration yesterday, and there was dancing in/near the streets of Chico, CA.

"You chose hope and unity, decency, science and yes, truth." -VP Elect Kamala Harris

"This is the time to heal in America." - President Elect Joe Biden
"Now, let's give each other a chance." - President Elect Joe Biden

I made this crazed mosaic for a book promo show 2 years ago. The Trumpeter's New Clothes ~it might be time to re-promote it.

I doubt this link will work, but in case it does~

  1. Enjoy the euphoria and celebration while it lasts! It's been a looooooooong four years.

  2. Well, there wasn’t any block parties around here, but then one could dance in the street and not ever be seen or be in too much danger of beating run over.

I didn’t venture out to the business districts of Laurel Fork ( the parking lots for the Dollar General, the Post Office, or Nester’s Store) to see if there was a party going one.

  3. Huge smiles.
And yes, the video DID work.
On the other side of the world I breathed a very big sigh of relief. Hope is ALWAYS welcome (and indeed essential).

    1. Your cheer and huge sigh of relief is felt. Much gratitude. We did it!

  4. We're entitled to celebrate. This is like the end of a four-year migraine.

As to Biden's cabinet choices, the remaining issue is whether Moscow Mitch will retain the power to obstruct them via keeping the Senate majority. The runoffs in Georgia will likely determine that.

It's encouraging to have Harris in the administration. Her mother was a scientist and her father was a professor of economics. With that kind of background, I expect she will have proper respect for science and expertise -- the lack of which is what largely got us into the current mess.

    1. Harris is really impressive, isn't she?
And yeah, the world's eyes will be on Georgia. I understand that they've lowered the voting age there, which bodes well for us. Fingers crossed.

Thanks for contributing greatly to this discourse. Woot! =)

    2. And don't forget our (not-so-)secret weapon in Georgia -- Stacey Abrams and her "Fair Fight" organization. She's done a lot to turn a red state into a purple one. The Republicans will rue the day they robbed her of the governorship.

    3. I love it, Infidel. I didn't realize any of that about Stacey. How lucky we are that she is there, where we need her most, doing what we need her most to do. Go, Stacey! Thank you. =D

  5. I hope this is a new chapter for you all, and the rest of the world. I've been glued to the news - but, sadly, just as glued to Twitter and watching the opposition doubling down even harder. These next months will be interesting, to say the least x

    1. Yes. It's still scary. There's too much time between now and Jan 20. Holding my breath.
      Thanks, Annalisa.

  6. It is indeed a time for celebration! So happy for you. And all of us. I breathed a HUGE sigh of relief here in Canada!

  7. Excellent post and I can say someone is happy in Texas. (Shhh. Not Ray). I do fear these next two months shall be ugly. I just hope Joe and Jill hire an excellent cleaning company to decontaminate every corner of the White House. And rah for Kamala. Cheers my friend.

    1. Ha. Yeah, they need really strong disinfectant for every room and corner. Yikes. That's a big job, but worth the effort. I hope they're paid quite well.

Yay for you! Sorry not sorry for Ray!
      Cheers, friend.

  8. Hopefully things don't get any worse while he throws a tantrum over the next few months. Good he got the boot indeed. Just a horrible person.

    1. Yes, yes and yes. I'm glad it was such a landslide victory. It makes him look even more foolish calling "fraud." Unfortunately and not too surprisingly, his peeps are doing the same. I wish there wasn't so much time between now and Jan 20, but the holidays will break things up, Pat.
Thanks for chiming in from the great white North.

  9. The hubs and I were just discussing the double edged sword of putting Bernie and/or Warren in the cabinet, because the Ds desperately need the votes in the Senate and both are oin (R) gov run states who would likely put another R in the Senate as a replacement. Which could be bad.

Regardless of who he choses, I pray they be qualified. Because no matter what anyone thought of 45, his appointees have mostly been completely unqualified to lead the areas they were in. I think I will enjoy Betsy DeVos's step down the most.

    1. Oh yes, it will be wonderful to see (if we do) DeVos leave. She's so ruthlessly uncaring and idiotic. I believe there's talk about Bernie heading the Labor Department. I didn't think about Warren - but she'll likely take a position somewhere. It's crazy how UNqualified everyone in trump's cabinet is. Biden-Harris are certain to be more thoughtful. Thanks for visiting and chiming in, Juli. I appreciate it.

  10. I don't think a cleaning company will be enough to do a really thorough exorcism of the White House. I think a powerful Smudging is called for, with burning sheaves of sweetgrass and sage! Dancing and chanting witches, clothed or not, perhaps riding a goat backward, can do no harm.

    1. You're most brilliant, Margaret. Biden-Harris would do well to hire you as Choreographer of the WH Exorcism. Love it. I think the key touch will be the riding a goat backward.

Great to see you, sweet lady.
