Forgive me. I kept a secret from most of you: I went away. Guess where! Really. Please guess. The first right answer-er will win a sweet little package that I brought home. See, I really was thinking about you these past few weeks.
Clues follow. You'll be subjected to a series of posts. Apologies. But I'll be dedicating specific pics to some of you, and you won't have to endure hundreds of photos. I'll refrain from commenting about your guesses until we have a winner.
In the meantime, I hope you've been well, my friends.
Please know that loving kindness far outweighs evil madness. This was a main take-back from my journey.
-----------------------------------------------------------CLUES:
(1) I only saw one Starbucks there.
(2)
(3) People there are not glued to their phones.
(4) It's a country, and here's a snapshot of city life.
(5, 6,7)

Post your guesses in the comments.
One guess per person.
Take care of yourselves, my friends.
I missed you, and I'm excited to re-connect.
Wild guess here. Cyprus?
ReplyDeleteNow that the winner is revealed below, I congratulate you on this most intellectual (and close) guess.
DeleteI have no idea yet -- will have to wait for future clues in future posts! But wherever it was, I hope you had a FAB time! Welcome home!
ReplyDeleteI did. Thank you, Debra.
DeletePerhaps Israel? That is not my final answer. Either way, glad you escaped. Your smile looks genuinely happy and peaceful. Welcome back and I hope you stay well. I look forward to more posts
ReplyDeleteReally good guess. Close in many ways.
DeleteThanks Joanne.
It's a hard one to guess so will await the final answer. Greetings!
ReplyDeleteI posted the harder clues, Blogoratti. Still, some were pretty close.
DeleteThanks for dropping by.
First, it seems like you had a great time getting away and placing your feet in healing waters. I might say...the East coast...somewhere. Or maybe you went to Oregon or even BC....I will wait for more clues
ReplyDeleteNo, but thank you for playing, Birgit. Smiles. I did have a great time.
DeleteI have no idea. But it looks like a relaxing place. Love the White House! Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteHmmm Mexico is where you did go?
ReplyDeleteNo, not Mexico. Nice try, Pat.
DeleteSeattle?
ReplyDeleteNo, much further. See below, Alex.
DeleteThank you for guessing. =)
I don't even know where Carmen Sandiego is!!
ReplyDeleteThat girl never stays put.
DeleteYour smile says that where ever it was, it was good.
ReplyDeleteGreece?
AHH!!! YES!! WINNER, WINNER, Mousaka (meat pie) dinner. Congratulations, EC.
DeleteI love all the responses, before and after, too. I've learned so much.
Is it too late to guess Greece?
DeleteLet's see. It's 1.5 and a half days later in Greece. Are you and I in the same time zone? I believe so. But EC is in Australia, 1 day later. If you can make the guess yesterday, then I'll have some complicated math to do, fishducky. Let me know. Smiles.
DeletePS Too tired to re-write that, but I didn't mean to add "and a half" to .5. It's not quite a full two days later. I've just been confusing myself here. Keep playing if you want me to confuse myself further, friend.
DeleteEC is actually ahead of you. It is Friday the 6th here - and early evening.
DeleteOy vey, I'm so confused. =)
DeleteOh my, I might easily be wrong because I'm relying on graffiti. "Crimer" or "Crimen" suggests Catalan, but there's been trouble there and I hope you weren't in danger. The other words, "Trane, Deksa (or Dexa) and Skweez" are oft seen in France. I'll guess (reluctantly; guessing is an untidy mental habit), you've been to Paris.
ReplyDeleteGeo, you're amazing. I was wondering if anyone would be so educated as to decipher the graffiti. Now, I understand it myself: French graffiti artists hit Athens, Greece. Thank you for the education.
DeleteYou're welcome, delightful Robyn. Any time you need to know where you weren't, let me know. I had fun with this post and hope you did too!
DeleteGeo, it's been great. I didn't know how it'd go. I have such sharp bloggy friends, I figured someone would guess it quickly. I didn't expect I'd learn so much in the process. =)
DeleteAll I know is that you are beautiful in that photo of your sweet face. I'm going to say Belgium simply because I hope you came back with Belgian chocolates.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
I wish I did, Janie. It was good chocolate, though not quite that good.
DeletePS Thank you for the sweet compliment.
DeleteHow wonderful that you visited Greece! How I would love to go there.
DeleteAnd you'd love it, Janie.
DeleteStarbucks suggests Washington. And only one? LOL
ReplyDeleteIt was refreshing to only see one, and only 2 McDonalds, Diane.
DeleteDears, more pictures to come. Congratulations, Elephant's Child! Such a wise woman (all heart, too).
ReplyDeleteI'm still out-of-sync due to jet lag. Working on getting back to myself and all of you soon.
Was it announced? I would have said Greece. I hope Greek Islands but I would expect more exotic looking photos? Hopefully more shots to come!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got to go away. Nothing beats travel. Well, plenty does, but its sure great to get away sometimes.
xo
You're right, Anthony, but EC was first. She's often one of my first, so I am happy it was her - though you're all deserving. Yeah, my photos aren't great and don't do justice to the actual place. I went to Athens, Santorini, Mykonos, and Crete. In my defense, I only posted photos that weren't a clear giveaway. More and more glorious ones will follow. Thank you. xo
DeleteNot fair! I was going to say Greece. I swear. Or Cleveland.
ReplyDeleteIf stopping at the Newark NJ airport en route home is anything like Cleveland, Mitchell, well, you'd still have been wrong. Sorry. Play again. I do have a pic for you in upcoming posts, though. Smiles.
DeleteThat's lovely, Robyn! Did you drink any Ouzo?
ReplyDeleteFunny you should ask, GB. I need to get ahold of a picture to answer that question. Do you like Ouzo, GB? What is it, 43%? =D
DeleteI would have guessed Hershey, Pennsylvania but just because you like chocolate so much. Boy, was I off! :) Glad you're back! Looking forward to your posts. I'd love to visit Greece!
ReplyDeleteHi, Rosey. Thank you. Yeah, no. Hersheys isn't real chocolate. Plus, they are evil and continue to pay into child labor - ugly stuff. Very different from Greece. I hope you get to visit someday.
DeleteYou went to the White House? How was The Donald? Did he tweet something nasty about you after you left?
ReplyDelete(Someone already answered, but I don't think it's fair for me to guess, anyway)
You're good to keep a secret, even though it's out of the bag already. I knew I didn't have to say anything to you, either way. The White House was incredibly serene. Imagine that. I'm now realizing that the only connection between the two White Houses is that the contents of both are very, very White.
DeleteThis is tricky, Robyn! I can't for the life of me figure it out. The white and blue made me think of Greece. Wherever you went, I hope you had a great time.
ReplyDeleteYou're RIGHT, Martha! Smart lady! EC guessed first, though. I tried to be tricky, since you're all so smart. I figured someone would guess it in my first post, though. Smiles.
