Dear Sillies,
Well, things started off with a bit too much bang, didn't they? My default being chocolate, it's time for another review.
I tasted Trader Joe's Organic Dark Chocolate Covered Cocoa Beans. $3.99 and there's plenty in the bag to share with a friend. I know because I did. They're yummy and crunchy. While a bit bitter, the cocoa beans don't have a strong flavor. I'm a little disappointed. "A crunchy combination of flavors and textures" <--this meant to me that each bean would taste different from the others. I suppose the bigger ones pack less power than the smaller, but the flavors and textures are the same.
All told, I'd give these a 6.5.
Love you.
Well, on your say-so, then, I'm going to eat a couple of gold-foil wrapped chocolate coins right now and spoil my supper!
ReplyDeleteYippee! I'm glad to have sweetened your night and spoiled your din, Debra. Victory!
DeleteNot sure I'd want whole beans in mine.
ReplyDeleteI know, Alex. I thought they'd have a stronger, more bitter taste, though. They don't. You might just like them.
DeleteMight have to go to Trader Joes and check 'em out. But who to share with ? I need to find someone worthy. (not sure Ray's there yet...ha!)
ReplyDeleteOh Ray...we've lots of work to do, don't we?
DeleteSeems a good idea that didn't quite work out.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Perfectly accurate.
DeleteLove ya.
Okay then, a Belgian Brother's Bad Day Eat a Cookie. A bit small but it is the best chocolate you will get in the U.S. Thanks for permission.
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure. Mmmm, Belgian anything. Thank you for the inspiration (and salivation).
DeleteAnd thank you for chiming in.
I love dark chocolate covered coffee beans. They are addictive, and I have to severely ration myself. I've not tried cocoa beans - I wonder if we have them over here...?
ReplyDeleteI'd think they would, Annalisa. But coffee beans might be better. These are more subtle. I suppose it depends what your taste buds say.
DeleteI miss Trader Joe's. The one in Raleigh was always packed no matter what day or time you hit it and I haven't felt like driving an hour to stand outside in a line for hours to get it.
ReplyDeleteGeeze, it's that bad, Diane? I feel for you. There's no place like TJs. We only have a few minutes wait around here.
DeleteI will have to have chocolate later today. Thanks for the permission. I won't make the 75 minute trek to the closest Traders Joe (in Winston Salem)
ReplyDeleteOh no, another blog friend without close or immediate access to TJs. I'm sorry, Jeff.
DeletePS HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
