Getting in Gear for Halloween

I'm not thrilled about Halloween this year, though I used to love dressing in costume.

In both pictures, I was 3 years old.

                                      Sorry for the poor quality.
These photos date back to 1969.

Please forgive this one. I was only 3 and didn't know any better.

I hope you're gearing up for a fun and safe Halloween.

  1. I love the second one Robyn, talk about adorable haha. I've never been keen on Halloween but this year I actually love the idea of it for once, it's great to see that you loved it when you were younger, when I was your age it scared and inconvenienced me more than anything!

  2. You look great, Robyn! Hey, my first costumes were scary and not in a good way.

  3. We don't DO Halloween and no one ever comes to our house anyway. German Shepherd may scare them off? Half price candy afterwards I could get into though!

  4. Fun pictures. I think there's one floating around of me as a robot, but I don't think I'll look for it very hard.

  5. Great pictures! Halloween is going to come and go with nary (NOTE: rare use of the word 'nary') a peep at my house. We don't exactly live in the country, but our neighborhood is such that a lot of kids don't come knocking at the door. And, since Mrs. Penwasser won't wear her French maid costume anymore, I hardly dress up like I used to.

  6. YW, thank you. The holiday actually scares me more now than when I was a kid. =)

Alex, thanks. I'd like to see your pictures.

Beth, you're right. That's the best part.

Stephen, yeah, these old photos can be kind of embarrassing.

Al, why don't you wear Mrs. P's french maid costume?

  9. You look adorable in both. I'm keeping you in my thoughts my sister. Huge hugs. :)

I'm hoping to go as Magenta from Rocky Horror, but who knows?

  12. Cute! I buy lots of candy for the trick or treaters, but they've dwindled over the years, which means my butt and waistline sure haven't. I love the candy!

  13. Aww. Your all hype up for Halloween when you were 3 years old. You look so adorable even though you're a clown. Can I have your crown from the 1st photo? lol

  15. PatHatt, that's not nice of you, even though -I admit- it's true. ;~>

BabySis, I hope you take pictures.

Melissa, you're so original. Sounds like fun. Thanks for the ongoing support.

Keetha, the only one too. Thanks.

GB, good. I'm glad to hear it.

MsA, of course I eat more than I give out too. And we get lots of trick-or-treaters.

Sharon, I wish I still had that crown, and the sparkly jacket.

Baygirl, actually one costume was for Purim - similar to but different from the Jewish Halloween.

BossyBetty, if only I could fit my right toe into it. Actually, though, it does look rather wide. I might be able to slip into it now. Where'd it go?

  16. Adorable pictures Robyn! My best costume was probably when I was the bride of Frankenstein in college. I bought an ugly green long dress from the Salvation Army, and my friends teased my hair like crazy. I looked a little too authentic. Julie

  17. What cute, cute pictures! My costume is almost ready. I just need a few more accessories and them I'm all set. I'm going to be Shirley Templet this year and yes, yes I WILL look RIDICULOUS!

  23. You were such a cute clown.
I watched this show about the history of Halloween and how trick or treat came to be. It started as a way to bribe the kids not to play pranks. Quite interesting.
